Family on the move
After 12 years, why move location?
One of the things we love to hear when people come to Grace Community Church is how it’s like one big family.
Family or community has always been important to us that why it’s in our name. God has been speaking to us as a church community about our impact on our local community. We want Richhill to know they are loved by God and He wants them to become part of his community. This has lead us to look at the impact we are currently having and how we can grow in this. And as a result we believe God wants us to be more intentional with our location.
In the book of Exodus we read the story of the Israelites who God wants to move from a place of slavery to a land of Freedom.
We are told that: the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me’ ”.
Calling us to move
We believe, like the Israelites God is calling us to move from where we are. Our current location has served us well for the last number of years but we believe it’s time for us to move from the outskirts, to come out of hiding and into the heart of Richhill.
From the place that is comfortable, familiar and safe to a new place so that we as a church community can worship him in the heart of our local community.
And this has lead us to the Recreation centre. God has opened a door for us to be there for six weeks beginning on the 20th of May. We don’t know what will happen next but we know the one who does and we are trusting in him as we take this step of faith.
Stirring
Change often makes us nervous and at times we resist it. The Israelites did, they didn’t believe what Moses said about their freedom. They resisted the good that God wanted for them because they had become used to their situation.
We want to honour what God has been stirring in us. There’s a lot of unknowns in this moment of stepping out and while that can cause us to be nervous it also causes us to trust in God more.
If you think about it the symptoms of being nervous they are actually very similar to the symptoms of excitement. So we are choosing excitement in this season of stepping out into the unknown. We believe God is moving us for a purpose and we are exciting to begin this new journey.
We are a family on mission and we would love for you to join us on this journey.
