“Resurrection life” isn’t about us. It’s about God and, as a consequence, others.
Manifold Wisdom
The Greek for “manifold” in Ephesians 3:10 is πολυποικιλος (polupoikilos), which means “much variegated” or “multifaceted”. When describing God’s wisdom, this invites us to take a step back and take in all the colours.
Often the idea of Christianity is it’s “part” of your life… an add-on. But if it’s to mean anything, it ought to encompass our whole lives.
In the same vein, the idea of church should not be an add-on. It’s not something that’s confined to a Sunday morning but, instead, it’s integral to who we are: Jesus’ design for his people.
Every tribe. Every tongue. Every nation.
When the Church follows the wisdom of God, everyone notices. Everything notices.
“My task is to bring out in the open and make plain what God, who created all this in the first place, has been doing in secret and behind the scenes all along. Through followers of Jesus like yourselves gathered in churches, this extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even among the angels!”
