Reflections from our church family this Advent.

Something I loved during each of my pregnancies was deciding on baby names. I decided the boys names easily, girls names were harder. I scrolled through many books and websites until I had settled on 3 options and when my wee girl was born I knew what it was to be — Jayda Hope, meaning ‘precious’ hope.
This pudgy pink baby in my arms was full of life and potential. So precious, so hopeful.
When I read Mary’s song in Luke 1, I can sense the hope she feels.
My soul glorifies the Lord and my Spirit rejoices in God my Saviour… From now on all generations will call me blessed
Jesus came to bring Hope, the story of which would be told from generation to generation.
As the days are short and nights are long, the worries and stresses of our personal lives and what’s going on in the communities and world around us can be overwhelming. But let’s live our lives positioned in hope because of what Jesus has done for us.
Father thank you for for the precious hope we have in Jesus. May our lives be like a continuous song of praise to You, that the world will see your goodness and stories of you will continue to be told from generation to generation.
Amen
